The development of radiation shielding materials is an important part of radiation protection research. Lead-free organic composite shielding materials have the advantages of high strength, easy processing and light weight. With the research status reviewed, and the preparation process and evaluation criteria summarized, we compared the shielding ability of different materials under diagnostic energy spectrum with Monte Carlo method, and analyzed effects of additive type, particle size and tube voltage on shielding capability via linear fitting.

The changes in DNA methylation and ionising radiation-induced whole genome DNA, DNA methylation in specific gene promoter regions and repeated sequence DNA methylation levels are reviewed. The possible mechanism of changes in DNA methylation patterns induced by ionising radiation are discussed, and the application of DNA methylation in radiation protection is introduced.

Nuclear technology has been widely used, and Dietary Supplementa have attracted more and more attention. It is necessary to study the protective effects of safe, effective and the low side effects of dietary supplements on the body. By analyzing the literature reports on the protection of vitamins, minerals, traditional Chinese medicine extracts, polysaccharides, algae and other substances from external/internal radiation damage, this paper provides rich research content for the compatibility of dietary supplements, to protect the health of practitioners.

The neutron energy spectrum on-site is of great significance for evaluating the design of reactor facilities and monitoring the radiation protection of personnel. We employed two recoil proton spectrometers and a portable neutron dosimeter to measure the neutron energy spectrum and the neutron ambient dose equivalent rate at six different elevations in the reactor building of a CPR1000 unit, and analyzed the results. It's expected to provide reference data for other same NPP units.

After a long-term operation of the water medium transmission pipeline in the radioactive system of nuclear power plant, some sections of the pipeline will have radioactive material deposition. In order to improve the decontamination effect of pipeline washing, some nuclear power plants in China began to try to introduce online ultrasonic decontamination equipment, which can be installed outside the pipeline, and can peel off the sediment on the inner wall by transmitting ultrasonic vibration into the pipeline, thus improving the decontamination effect of pipeline washing. The application of on-line ultrasonic descaling equipment in nuclear power plants is still in the experimental exploration stage, and its functions need to be further developed and improved. This paper mainly introduces the research on on-line ultrasonic decontamination of pipelines in a CPR1000 reactor type nuclear power plant in China. Tests were carried out on pipelines with diameters of 60.33 mm and 88.9 mm respectively. Two different types of pipelines with loose pollution deposition and fixed pollution deposition were selected in the 88.9mm diameter pipeline test. The test shows that this technology has obvious decontamination effect on the loose pollution deposition pipelines, It has the value of popularization and further research. After long time operation, radioactive materials may be deposited in some sections of the water medium transmission pipeline of radioactive system in nuclear power plants. In order to improve the decontamination effect of pipeline flushing, some nuclear power plants in China began to try to introduce online ultrasonic decontamination equipment, which can be installed on the outside of the pipeline, and by transmitting ultrasonic vibration inward, deposits on the inner wall can be peeled off. While the application of this technology is still in the stage of experimental exploration, and its function needs to be further developed and improved, we have made some efforts at a CPR1000 nuclear power plant. With tests carried out on pipes of 60.33 mm and 88.9 mm diameter respectively, we conclude preliminarily that this technology has obvious effect for non-fixed contamination in pipeline, and it is worth to be popularized and further studied.

To understand the environmental radiation impact of a germanium ore mining enterprise in Yunnan Province, in 2021 we carried out radiation environment monitoring of it, in accordance with national and/or industry standards. The results show that, the average radon concentration in downwind of the exhaust shaft is at the same level as the inlet shaft. The contents of
210
Pb and
7
Be in aerosol are comparable to the results of automatic atmospheric monitoring in the local main urban zone. The air absorbed dose rate of γ-radiation is similar to, or slightly higher than the control point, with the exception of dump. The radon concentration in the air of the downwind residential area is similar to the value of the control point, and significantly higher than the average 5-year value (cumulative measurement) in the local main urban zone. The levels of U, total α and total β in surface water are higher than the background. The contents of
238
U and
226
Ra in soil around the mine, in downwind of the exhaust shaft and in the mining settlement are higher than those of the control point.
