Abstract: The development of radiation shielding materials is an important part of radiation protection research. Lead-free organic composite shielding materials have the advantages of high strength, easy processing and light weight. With the research status reviewed, and the preparation process and evaluation criteria summarized, we compared the shielding ability of different materials under diagnostic energy spectrum with Monte Carlo method, and analyzed effects of additive type, particle size and tube voltage on shielding capability via linear fitting.
