A full range of control method for water quality is employed in the practices of secondary loop water control and management at Ningde nuclear plant unit 1, namely equipment maintenance and washing during commissioning, chemical control during outage, complete rinsing and cleaning of the secondary loop in the process of start, and water regulation and control during operation. These have obtained significant performance. Water quality analyses have shown that the secondary loop and steam generator have good water quality, resulting in reduced equipment corrosion to a larger extent.

During nuclear power plant operation and overhaul, the hydrogen concentration in reactor coolant system is subject to monitoring. This paper mainly describes the experimental process of rapid measurement of hydrogen in reactor coolant system by using portable ORBISPHERE 3654 hydrogen meter and the application of portable hydrogen meter in Ningde nuclear power plant. The results show that the portable hydrogen meter can rapidly and accurately measure hydrogen content in the RCP with optimal water sample flow at a rate of 270-310 mL/min.
