Abstract: This article sort outs the three basic concepts related to the regulatory scope of radiation protection. The principles for delineating regulatory scope and some difficult issues were analyzied. The evolution of domestic and international standards as well as potential differences between them was also discussed. Preliminary suggestion on their applicability in the revision of China's relevant standards in the next step was put forward.
