Abstract: With respect to the current situation of radioactive waste management in Mexico, we briefly review the main sources, classification and treatment of radioactive waste in Mexico. With the continuous development and application of nuclear energy and technology in the country, a large amount of wastes containing radionuclides will be generated. It will cause immeasurable long-term harm to human beings and the environment once it flows into the ecosystem. In order to manage radioactive waste safer and more effectively, Mexican authorities have made a detailed classification of different types of radioactive waste, and formulated relevant laws and regulations.
