Abstract: In order to understand the exposure situation of radiological staff in non-military medical institutions in Changzhou, a retrospective analysis of dose monitoring results for external radiation in 2017—2018 was conducted. It shows that: 1) The annual average dose is lower than the national standard limit of 5 mSv/a; 2) The monitoring rate and protective effectiveness were higher in municipal than district level institutions; 3) A descending order of annual average dose was found as follows: nuclear medicine, following order other X-ray radiological diagnostic department, X-ray radiological diagnostic department, oral related X-ray radiological diagnostic department, interventional radiology department, and radiotherapy department. It is concluded that protection measures of medical radiation staff in non-military medical institutions in Changzhou are relatively complete, while the district-managed grassroots and private medical institutions still need to strengthen their management and improve the self-protection awareness of their radiation staff.
