Abstract: Ionising radiation can induce free radicals in doped hydroxyapatite. The radiation dose can thus be measured via detection of free radicals by electron spin resonance (ESR) technology. We review the dosimetric characteristics and its research status of doped hydroxyapatite, and analyse and discuss its feasibility as a new radiation dosimeter material.
