Manufacturing Technology and Application Development of Electroformed Nickel Wolter-I Optical System

Abstract: Abstract: Presently, the development of Wolter-I optical system is becoming a new focus, due to the load demand of the X-ray telescope for future pulsar navigation and space astronomical observation mission. And electroforming-nickel replication (ENR) is the optimum technology for manufacturing the mirrors of X-ray optical system. In the present study, the ENR technology process, as well as the development status and future applications of ENR X-ray optical system are introduced. The key technologies and difficulties of the ENR X-ray optical system development are summarized. The methods for improving the development technologies are discussed. This study is consequently beneficial for promoting the development of pulsar autonomous navigation and space exploration in China.
