Abstract: Radiation protection of nuclear power plants is an important part of nuclear power safety and an important cornerstone for the safe development of nuclear power industry. This paper takes the radiation protection supervision of nuclear power groups as an example, focusing on the construction of the radiation protection performance indicator system at the nuclear power group level as the research object. The objectives, ideas, and related issues of the performance indicator system construction under the current regulatory framework are discussed, with focus on addressing the incomplete dimensions of radiation risks, the incomplete hierarchy of indicators, and inconsistent definitions. By sorting out the standards and regulatory requirements for radiation protection, this paper proposes a safety performance indicator system that includes eight aspects: internal and external radiation exposure, skin exposure, high radiation areas, radioactive contamination, radioactive materials, radiation sources, and radiation monitoring. The safety performance indicator system is divided in five levels: accidents, significant events, general events, anomalies, and statistical indicators. It is expected that this study can provide a reference for the construction of radiation protection performance indicator system among nuclear power peers.

Key words: nuclear power group, radiation protection, radiation safety, performance indicator system
